8 Paths
Ashtanga / Vinyasa - Origin from Hindi aṣṭaṇ - eight; or its source, Sanskrit ashṭaṅga - having eight parts.
Ashtanga Yoga is the eight-limbed path of conscious living and spiritual practice that guides one towards Self-Knowledge, liberation and cessation of personal suffering. It is presented in the Yoga Sutras which was compiled around 200 BCE by the great sage Patanjali.
Ashtanga Vinyasa is a style of Yoga as exercise popularised by K. Pattabhi Jois during the twentieth century, often promoted as a dynamic form of classical Indian Yoga. Jois claimed to have learnt the system from his teacher Tirumalai Krishnamacharya. The style is energetic, a type based on eight principles and consisting of 3 series of poses executed in swift succession, combined with deep, controlled breathing - synchronising breath with movements.
Chakra Balance -
Hatha (Discipline of Force) - The Sanskrit word हठ Haṭha literally means "force", alluding to a system of energetic & physical techniques.
Hatha is a preparatory process of Yoga. The word "HA" means Sun, "THA" means Moon. "Hatha" is the Yoga that brings balance between the Sun and Moon energies, or the Pingala and Ida in you.
Hatha Yoga is the school that emphasises mastery of the body as a way of attaining a state of spiritual purification in which the mind is withdrawn from external objects. It is a traditional branch of Yoga that uses physical techniques to preserve and channel vital force and flexibility.
Hot 26 - (Bikram Yoga) is a series of 26 Hatha Yoga postures & 2 breathing exercises practised in 40C during a 90 minutes session. Every Hot 26 class is considered appropriate for beginners to advanced practitioners.
Kundalini | Tantra - Defined in Tantra as spiritual energy that lies within the body - latent female energy believed to lie coiled at the base of the spine and navel. A system of meditation and breath directed towards the release of Kundalini energy, or activation of Shakti. It involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses.
Meditation (Tibetan Buddhism) -
Yin + Sound Healing -
Yoga Nidra - A Sanskrit term meaning "yogic sleep" is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation. In modern usage it is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, typically induced by combining guided mental imagery while in śavāsana.
Creating Sankalpa (Intention) for the 3 stages of Nidra:
1 - Rotation of Awareness Through the Body.
2 - Awareness of Prana (Breath).
3 - Awareness of Feeling and Emotion.
Studies have found that the Yoga Nidra practice appears to reflect an integrated response by the hypothalamus, resulting in decreased sympathetic (excitation) nervous activity and increased parasympathetic (relaxation) function.
