Burdock root oil is traditionally prepared by macerating the roots of Arctium lappa in sunflower oil. It has long been valued in herbal practice for its balancing and restorative properties for both hair and skin.
This nourishing oil helps soothe and regulate the scalp, making it suitable for both dry and oily hair types. It is commonly used to support scalp health, reduce the appearance of dandruff, and relieve dryness and irritation. With regular use, it helps improve the condition of the hair, leaving it stronger, smoother, and more resilient while reducing breakage and split ends.
Burdock root oil can also be used as a body oil to care for dry and stressed skin. Its gentle, conditioning properties make it suitable for delicate areas, including the care of eyelashes.
Application
For hair care, apply 1–2 times per week as a restorative treatment. Distribute a small amount directly onto the scalp using a pipette, massage into the scalp and through the lengths, and leave on overnight under a shower cap or towel. Wash out thoroughly and follow with your usual routine.
A few drops can also be applied to the ends of the hair to help prevent dryness and breakage.
